2024 LeadHERship Summit Call for Abstracts

Women in Healthcare (WIH) invites thought leaders who are passionate about our mission of advancing women in healthcare, professional development and education, to submit an abstract for our upcoming 2024 LeadHERship conference in Atlanta.

WIH requests submissions showcasing strategies, programs, or initiatives that address the many challenges that women and the healthcare industry face today and solutions and tactics for overcoming them. All submissions should be able to address the 2024 theme "Generation WE: Women Empowered".

All submissions must be completed online by May 10, 2024 11:59pm EST.

Abstract Submission Details

General Summit Overview

The 2024 7th Women in Healthcare LeadHERship Summit will be in November in Atlanta, GA. Expand your healthcare community with women from across the organization throughout the US. Hosted by the national organization, all chapters come together for 3 days of networking, education, growth and mentorship. This event will feature women from the healthcare industry who have excelled in their careers through adversity and with sponsorship. Thought-provoking panel discussions and break out sessions will allow the audience to look within themselves to be the change that promotes women in leadership and challenges the individual to eliminate boundaries put on their professional growth.

The WIH LeadHERship Summit is geared towards those in administration, operations and facilities and those interested in management and leadership positions in healthcare. Our summit is developed for professional women in the healthcare industry from students to executives interested in professional development, education and the excellence of women in the professional environment. The organization represents women from across the US and we are proud to see a diverse group of women represented at the summit.

The summit is the perfect recharge at the end of the year to inspire you to advance beyond barriers and improve performance and your organization. 

Abstract Guidelines

WIH will be extending their break out session into two days over Thursday and Friday of the Summit. Programming runs simultaneous, and is divided into 2 tracks: Healthcare Education and Professional Development. All submissions should align with these tracks and the four WIH pillars of education: Healthcare, Professional Development, Mentorship and Self. Additionally for 2024, all submissions should be able to address this year's theme "Generation WE: Women Empowered".

All speakers and panelists will be expected to cover the cost of their travel and accommodations. A complimentary registration will be provided to all accepted break out speakers.

This form cannot be saved if unable to complete in one session. Please review the content areas on the form and compile offline prior to submitting the form.

Selection Process & Timeline

All submissions must be completed online by May 10, 2024 11:59pm EST

  • NO EXTENSIONS will be given for late submissions. 

  • You may create and submit multiple submissions.

  • Submissions will not be considered if sent outside of the online submission center.

  • Materials submitted must be original, with all external sources referenced.

  • We will allow up to three speakers per session.

  • You will receive an automatic email confirmation of your submission.

  • A team of volunteers and staff will review all completed submissions.

  • Presenters will be notified about the status of their submission via email no later than June 10, 2024.

Review Criteria

Each abstract will be reviewed blind by at least two reviewers on the board of directors or advisory board.

The selection committee will score abstracts based on: 

  • Fresh, innovative and diverse perspectives that don’t replicate previous Summit sessions. 

  • Informative sessions that bring value to attendees, their organizations and their communities.  

  • Concrete takeaways.

  • Innovative presentation delivery

  • Relevance and application to the typical healthcare audience

  • Content that motivates and inspires change or improvement.

Presentations may not include sales pitches or be a direct promotion of one’s business.
