Teresa Volkerson PT, MPT, MBA

Teresa currently serves as the Associate Chief Operating Officer at Orlando Health Orlando  Regional Medical Center. She began her healthcare career as a physical therapist working closely  with adolescent sports patients. Teresa has supported teams in a variety of healthcare settings from pediatric and women’s specialty hospitals, Neonatal Intensive Care, adult outpatient, and  pediatric outpatient clinics. In her current role she serves as the executive and strategic leader for  several areas, including Imaging, Laboratory, Clinical Nutrition, Facilities, Security, Spiritual Care,  Respiratory Therapy, Endoscopy and Interventional Radiology.

Teresa has previously served the community as the Coordinator for Medical Care for the Orlando  Ballet. For 10 years, she coordinated the volunteer medical team serving the dancers of the  Orlando Ballet. This volunteer medical team donated in excess of $125k in medical care per year to  the Orlando Ballet. She successfully transitioned this program to Orlando Health Sports  Partnerships in 2018.

Her journey as a healthcare leader has been shaped by several impromptu mentors, including  community leaders, frontline team members, and direct supervisors. She emphasizes the  importance of seeking to understand, asking questions, and being intentional, knowing that  opportunities often arise through everyday conversations with colleagues and teams.

A native of Central Florida, Teresa was born in Winter Park, FL, and holds degrees from both Florida  State University and the University of Florida. Teresa is a member of the American College of  Healthcare Executives and is Lean Six Sigma Yellow belt certified. A loyal Florida State fan, she lives  in Orlando, FL with her husband and their German shepherd.
