Joann Ettien, RN, MHA

Joann Ettien is an Interim Chief Executive Officer for Lifepoint Health. Joann has 35+ years of clinical leadership experience for high-profile medical hospitals. After spending several years as an ER nurse, then nurse manager at HCA Largo Medical Center in Largo, Florida, Joann became Director of Nursing Services in 1992. In 1999, she was promoted to Chief Nursing Officer, providing leadership and direction for all clinical care, quality, and planning for the 256-bed acute care hospital. Joann was promoted to HCA TriStar Centennial Women’s Hospital in Nashville as Chief Operating Officer in 2006, where she implemented and integrated a new children’s program to include a pediatric ER, oncology program, general surgery, NICU surgery, and neurology. Under Joann’s leadership, the Women’s Hospital at Centennial has been the TriStar Centennial Women’s and Children’s Hospital since 2011.

Joann was named to the Nashville Medical News Women to Watch list in 2011, and in 2015, she was featured in HCA’s “50 Voices of HCA” publication. She has served on numerous boards including the Tennessee Perinatal Advisory Committee, Tennessee Emergency Medical Services for Children (CoPec), the Children’s Advisory Board,
Ronald McDonald House Charities Nashville, YWCA Nashville, and was the former board chair of the Pinson Hospitality House. Joann currently serves as a board advisor for the Nashville and National Women in Healthcare boards.
